Sabine Lichtenfels Co-founder of the Tamera Peace Research Centre in Portugal, Author, Theologian and Peace Activist. In 2005 was nominated as part of the '1,000 Women for Peace' Nobel Peace Prize. In 2005 and 2007 she led the Grace Pilgrimages through Israel/ Palestine with up to 180 international participants. With her evolved knowledge of community she knows how to deal with conflicts among different groups of people and how to turn antagonism into friendship, mutual understanding and solidarity.
In February 2007 she visited the Communidad de Paz as a guest and participated in an international meeting.

Padre Javier Giraldo
is a Jesuit Priest from Bogotà and a Human Rights activist. For many years he stands up for the fate of the 4 million displaced peasants of Colombia. Because of his engagement and his clear commitment to truth and humaneness, he has lived under permanent threat of death for many years. Eleven years ago he encouraged the inhabitants of San José to found a peace village and helped them create the charter they live by. Since then he acts as their advocate and as the permanent mentor of the Comunidad de Paz.
Benjamin von Mendelssohn
Founder of the Peace Research Village Association (PRV) whose aim is to develop Peace Research Villages in conflict areas around the world. The first PRV is intended to be developed in 2009 in the Middle East. Benjamin has accompanied and co led the 2 pilgrimages undertaken by Sabine Lichtenfels in Israel/Palestine.

Sami Awad Director of the Holy Land Trust in Bethlehem, Palestine. Palestinian teacher for non-violence with the goal to develop a perspective for Palestine in peace, after the end of the Israeli occupation. For him, non-violence is not only a form of resistance but he wants to build up social and ecological models which will reveal what lived non-violence looks like. In the middle of the daily life in Palestine Jesus' word “Love your enemies” has become an existencial imperative for Sami Awad.

Jurgen Kleinwachter Jurgen Kleinwachter, physicist and inventor from Loerrach/Germany, has developed a variety of solar systems and components which he assembled to form an integral, multi-functional overall system – the “Solar Power Village”. This system, a symbiosis for plant growth and solar energy production, is designed in such a way that it can be constructed almost entirely in the user-countries. The first 1:1 Solar Power Village Model is being developed in Tamera. Juergen Kleinwaechter is a reliable visionary and a realist of a Solar Age.

Gloria Cuartas
In 1996 the UNESCO awarded the social worker Gloria Cuartas as “Mayor of Peace”. As mayor of Apartadó, the city with the highest murder rate worldwide she served involuntarily as “democratic fig leaf” for the government of the contemporary governor Uribe at a time where almost the whole opposition, critic journalists and trade union representatives were threatened and murdered. As General Secretary of the Socialist Political Front and as candidate for the Senate of the Republic of Colombia today she herself is on one of the first places of the murder list of the death squads and permanently exposed to acute danger of life.
